A device system for several applications

The automatic analysis system behr CL 10 for the coulometric determination of halogen compounds consists of the components:

Function principle

First, the controlled, precise drying of the sample. There are no splashes, no deflagration, the sample is burnt completely in the boats with no losses. This guarantees you exact analysis results and minimizes

servicing and maintenance of the system. When the sample is inserted into the patented, programmable IR furnace – manually or automatically – it always ends up at precisely the same defined position.

Simply enter the temperature, heat-up and holding times for sample drying and combustion in the PC. And you can be sure that every drying process in the future will be exactly the same. You don't have this guarantee if the sample is placed into a permanently heated reduction furnace “on feeling”.

For subsequent combustion, the behr infrared furnace will reach 1000°C within seconds. The final digestion of any non-detected sample components in the downstream resistance furnace guarantees that you do not obtain any misquantifications due to incomplete sample combustion.

“Heat Pipes” quickly cool down the furnace after combustion and it is then ready for the next analysis.

  • Sample entry module for sold, liquid samples
  • Furnace unit with programmable infrared furnace with downstream resistance furnace with
  • constant temperature
  • Microcoulometric titration unit (optionally tempered and in the casing) control software

behr CL 10: The intelligent solution

  • The unique furnace unit of the behr CL 10 consists of a programmable IR furnace with extremely fast heating and cooling rates and coolant-free cooling by means of "heat pipes" as well as a downstream reduction furnace with a constant temperature.
  • The sliding cover of the furnace chamber makes this easily observable and accessible. The condition of the combustion tube can be assessed at any time without dismantling.
  • The heated gas outlet line prevents water condensation. This prevents halogen entrainment and guarantees exact series of measurements.
  • A check valve protects the furnace against sulphuric acid.
  • Easy dismantling and cleaning.
  • The open titration stand provides a direct view of the detection unit. The electrolyte cell is made of brown glass so that no casing is required
  • Results can be transmitted to LIMS systems (customer-specific, on request).
  • Low operating costs through inexpensive consumables and spare parts.
  • Quickly ready for use.
  • Low maintenance costs: the behr CL 10 is quasi maintenance-free.

The patented behr IR furnace:

Saves costs and energy

The IR furnace does not heat up during the breaks. For you this means that is consumes no electricity and costs nothing. Your work is thus much more economical than with two continually-heated reduction furnaces. And you spare the environment.

Reduction furnace

for the complete combustion of the sample shares that may not have been detected in the IR furnace.

Titration stand

Closed titration stand TS 10 G

Secure placement of reaction vessels with corrosive chemicals

Extraction and scouring of the waste gas – no unpleasant odors through acetic acid vapors.

Tempered titration cell and consequentially, particularly stable measuring signal

Open titration stand TS 10

Titration cell and gas route can be seen by the user at all times.

The intelligent solution

• Low operating costs through inexpensive consumables and spare parts.

• Quickly ready for use.

• With USB interface

Benefits in analysis

Highest precision through microcoulometric detection with potentiometric end point detection and screw-attached impedance converter on the measurement electrode

No calibration required as the absolute process renders largest reproducibility through controlled drying and combustion of the sample in the programmable, multi-level heatable IR furnace:

IR furnace with quick heat-up rate, from 0 to 1000 oc in 10 seconds, "one-spot analysis": the boat stays in the same position in the furnace during the drying and combustion process.
