The behrotest® distillation unit DTT6 with six sample positions is used for the determination of tritium activity concentration in water according to DIN EN ISO 9698.
This method is suitable for water samples with a volume of 100 ml to 500 ml. Before each distillation, first water samples are oxidized to convert iodine to iodide and with sufficient amount of an alkaline agent, the organic ingredients are dissolved. Subsequently, aliquot of the distillate is mixed with the scintillation solution in a measuring bottle and measured.
The complete distillation unit consists of:
- Serial heating block with 6 sample positions
- Each sample position individually adjustable
- Specially manufactured behr condenser with more coils and cooling connections with threaded fittings
- Cooling water distribution unit ensures uniform cooling at sample positions
- Condenser ledge and droplet tray
- Practical brackets for cooler and Erlenmeyer flask
